Frequently Asked Questions
How do I join Mighty Mule Flying Club?
Joining the Club is easy. Download the membership kit and follow the instructions. If you still have a question please Contact Us.
What type of aircraft does the club have?
We operate a 2 Piper Cherokees with a 180HP and 150HP as well as a Redbird Simulator.
As the club grows and funds become available we certainly want to expand our fleet and at that time we will form a committee to determine what is appropriate for the club.
Is MMFC a Flight School or does MMFC provide flight instruction?
No.
How am I Charged for Aircraft Usage?
We charge our members for use of the aircraft based on the “hobbs” time. Aircraft usage charges are “dry” so the cost of fuel is not included in the rates.
Members track their time in the aircraft log book. Our treasurer prepares monthly invoices for dues, aircraft usage and any excess fees and sends them to each member.
How Are the Aircraft Scheduled?
We use an online reservation system from Flightcircle. All members must schedule their time in the system prior to use of the plane.
Do I Need My Own Insurance?
The club maintains an insurance policy that covers all members while they are flying the club plane. We do not require any extra insurance, however you are able to do that if you choose.
How Do I Pay My Bill?
Invoices are required to be paid in full by the 15th of each month. We currently accept checks, cash, or you can pay online through Paypal with a 3% charge or Venmo. Checks may be mailed in or taken directly to the bank.
Is Mighty Mule Flying Club associated with the military?
No. While some members or leadership might be in/separated/retired from the military, there is no official association with the the military, it’s members, or in any other way.
When is a membership commitment to Mighty Mule Flying Club over?
A member must have 12 months of being a member in good standing in the club. Which means that they pay their bills on time, attend meetings, etc. Only members on active Flying Member status count towards months in good standing. Inactive membership does not count towards months in good standing. If a member leaves the club of their own wishes prior to their commitment ending, they are responsible for the entirety of their remaining contract to include flight fee contract and monthly membership fees.
